Implementation Of B45 Steady Running Next Year

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) is still reviewing the implementation of biodiesel 50 percent or B50 biodiesel fuel.

Just so you know, B50 is planned to run in 2026.

For this reason, the government will still implement B45 next year.

"B45, we have never conducted testing, but this is a study, indeed in the 5 percent segment as well. So, we are waiting for a study as well. Yesterday the new study was reporting, we are still critical," said Director General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Eniya Listiani Dewi, Thursday, September 18.

While walking, Eniya ensured that he would continue to learn the implementation of B50. The decision to implement B50 is still under the authority of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia.

"If I prepare according to the Minister's expectations, prepare B50, technically prepare. Now, the decision will be made to the minister after the study is complete," explained Eniya.

Previously, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung said that only B50 could be done after considering the readiness of crude palm oil (CPO) and the Nabati Fuel Business Entity (BBN).

Lebih lanjut, Yuliot mengatakan, yang menjadi tantangan terbesar dari percepatan implementasi B50 adalah suplai bahan bakar nabati, khususnya Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME).

"Jadi, ini kan kapasitas BUBBN-nya ini kan juga terbatas. Jadi ya kita juga berusaha untuk meningkatkan produksi FAME-nya. Jadi kan harus inline antara fame dengan program B50, kalau dimungkinkan dipercepat, ya kami akan lakukan percepatan untuk implementasi B50," imbuhnya.

Furthermore, Yuliot said, the biggest challenge of accelerating the implementation of B50 is the supply of biofuel, especially Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME).

"So, this is the capacity of the BUBBN, which is also limited. So yes, we are also trying to increase the production of the FAME. So it must be inline between the fame and the B50 program, if possible it will be accelerated, we will accelerate it for the implementation of B50," he added.
