Ministry Of Public Works Builds 19 Phase II People's Schools In East Java At The End Of 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) will build 19 phase II People's Schools (SR) in East Java.

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said his party was committed to accelerating the construction of phase II SR throughout Indonesia, according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

"The construction of this People's School is a tangible form of the government's commitment to building superior human resources. The Ministry of Public Works wants to ensure that this educational facility is built quickly and with quality," said Dody in his official statement, quoted on Tuesday, September 16.

Meanwhile, the Head of the East Java Strategic Infrastructure I I Gusti Agung Ariwibawa said that the Ministry of Public Works is preparing for the construction of Phase II SR in East Java, which is planned to be built at 19 location points.

Pembangunan SR tahap II itu nantinya akan dilaksanakan di atas lahan seluas sekitar 5 hektare usulan dari pemerintah daerah (Pemda).

"It is targeted that Phase II SR will begin construction at the end of 2025," he said.

He explained that the construction of the SR phase I in the form of renovations divided into stages IA, IB and IC, had been completed.

As for the SR phase IA, 12 schools have operated with a total capacity of more than 1,000 students in the city of Surabaya; Mojokerto Regency; Pasuruan Regency; Jombang Regency; Lamongan Regency; Batu City; Malang City; Banyuwangi Regency; Probolinggo City; Pacitan Regency; and Kediri Regency.

Then, the IC stage SR added seven new locations, such as Banyuwangi; Malang; Pacitan; Pasuruan; Sumenep; Trenggalek; and Bangkalan, with a capacity of around 675 students.

One of the schools that has been renovated and has been operating is the Final Medium People's School (SRMA) 24 Kediri.

The school is located in the BKPSDM area of Kediri Regency, with a capacity of four groups studying high school levels and accommodating 100 students.

The Principal of SRMA 24 Kediri named Fadeli explained that each study group contains 25 students, with a composition of 10 men and 15 women.

"Until this moment, the children really feel helped because of the extreme poor background, it turns out that they are all treated here, even until the need for bathing and other basic things are all prepared," he said.
