Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi stated that the distribution of rice for the Food Supply and Price Stabilization program (SPHP) continues to be intensified to make it easier for the public to access these food commodities.
"The distribution of SPHP rice assigned from Badanas to Perum Bulog is expected to reach various distribution channels. This is so that people can more easily access it," said Arief in a statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Sunday, September 14.
Arief stated that after traditional markets and BUMN outlets, his party collaborated with the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (APRINDO) to distribute SPHP rice with a total target of 800 thousand tons. It is hoped that this collaboration will run from September to December 2025.
"For SPHP rice, we have asked for help so that it can be distributed to all access, including modern markets. APRINDO has more than 40 thousand to 60 thousand outlets. So it can reach many places and facilitate public access," he said.
As many as 800 thousand tons of SPHP rice are immediately distributed to modern retail networks to expand reach and accelerate public access to basic needs.
Arief explained that the public can easily access modern retail outlets because they are located near settlements so that this distribution completes the previous distribution through traditional markets, state-owned enterprises, agencies, and local governments.
"Now that we are taking care of rice, it must reach the community at the right price. We focus on the market content. So Bulog rice will definitely come out to meet the needs of the wider community. I make sure it comes out as needed," added Arief.
Perum Bulog itself ensures that there is no shortage of rice, both for the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program and premium rice, in modern retail stores, in safe conditions.
