JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) targets that repairs to elevators damaged due to demonstrations at two pedestrian bridges (JPO) can be completed in December 2025.
The location of the JPO is in front of the Polda Metro Jaya and the Senen area, Jakarta.
Direktur Jenderal Cipta Karya Kementerian PU Dewi Chomistriana mengatakan, pihaknya harus mengganti struktur dari lift rusak tersebut.
"Of course, one of them could be seen that one of the elevator houses caught fire, then the elevator for JPO Senen was worse in condition. So the structure must also be replaced, so we need time and we are targeting it to be completed by December 2025," said Dewi while reviewing the Jakarta Metro Police JPO, Jakarta, Monday, September 8.
Dewi said that her party needed time to work on repairing the elevator.
However, he said, currently the two JPOs are back in operation.
According to him, his party has completed improvements in the two JPOs in the last 7 days.
The repairs include floor work, roofs, and hand railing.
"Until now, the parts that have suffered minor damage can be resolved within 7 days. So, today it can be functionally operational," he said.
However, he reiterated that mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) work and the elevator repairs could only be completed in December 2025.
"But what I said earlier was the MEP electronic section, then the elevator, elevator house, structure, we need time until December 2025," he said.

Meanwhile, for the repair of the JPO in the Senen area, he said, his party would still carry out calculations.
The reason, he continued, was that the JPO in the Senen area was included in the list of public infrastructure with very serious damage.
"For (JPO) Senen, we still have to calculate, because the structure is heavily damaged," concluded Dewi.
