OJK: Political And Social Turbulence Only Has A Limited Impact On The Stock Market

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) considers that the political and social dynamics that have occurred domestically over the past week have only had a limited impact on fluctuations in the national stock market.

Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners Mahendra Siregar said that the national economy continued to show strong growth and intermediation activities in the financial services sector also recorded positive performance, in line with the trend of domestic economic growth.

"In the capital market, the JCI set a record high in August 2025, although the domestic dynamics this week had a limited impact on stock market volatility," he said at a Press Conference on the Results of the Monthly Board of Commissioners Meeting, Thursday, September 4.

He conveyed that based on a thorough evaluation of the condition of financial services institutions, the OJK considered that the liquidity level was in adequate condition and supported by a strong solvability position.

Furthermore, Mahendra said that the OJK together with relevant financial services and association industry players will continue to carry out comprehensive monitoring and data collection related to the impact of domestic dynamics in the last few days.

"This step is taken so that the policy options taken are based on accurate and targeted data in ensuring that the financial services sector remains stable," he said.

In addition, he conveyed that the OJK also continues to strengthen coordination with all financial service institutions to ensure the readiness of anticipatory steps, so that services to the community remain optimal.

"Coordination and synergy with all members of the KSSK also continue to be applied in maintaining and mitigating potential risks that can disrupt the stability of the financial services sector as a whole," he concluded.
