Deputy Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Denies The Vacancy Issue Of BP And Shell Fuel Due To Import Permits

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung dismissed an issue that stated that the fuel supply vacancy at the private gas stations Shell and BP AKR was due to delays in import permits for fuel.

"There is no (import permit issue)," said Yuliot, quoted on Tuesday, September 2.

Yuliot explained that along with the assignment given by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia to the Director General of Oil and Gas to handle fuel supply arrangements, it was then decided by the Director General of Oil and Gas.

"Because it was assigned by the Director General of Oil and Gas to complete it," he said.

For your information, currently a number of private gas stations are empty of stock for several types of fuel.

According to ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, the government has allocated a fairly large fuel import quota for 2025, which is 100 percentplus 10 percent of the 2024 quota.

Quoted from Shell's official website, the vacancy still occurs in a number of gas stations.

"Shell Indonesia informed that Shell gasoline products are not available on several networks of Shell Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) until an uncertain time," the management wrote.
