JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded export performance from January to July 2025 of 160.16 billion US dollars, or an increase of 8.03 percent when compared to the same period in the previous year or year on year (yoy) of 148.26 billion US dollars.
Deputy for Statistics for Distribution and Services, Pudji Ismartini, said that the increase in exports from January to July 2025 was driven by the performance of non-oil and gas exports (oil and gas) which reached 152.20 billion US dollars, an increase of 9.55 percent (yoy) when compared to the same period in 2024 of 138.94 billion US dollars.
Meanwhile, the value of oil and gas exports from January to July 2025 reached 7.97 billion US dollars, or a decrease of 14.56 percent (yoy) when compared to the same period in 2024 of 9.32 billion US dollars.
"Then if you look at the sector, the cumulative increase in the value of non-oil and gas exports will occur in the manufacturing sector and the agricultural sector," he said at a press conference, Friday, September 1.
He added that the manufacturing sector was the main driver of increasing non-oil and gas export performance from January to July 2025 with a contribution of 12.81 percent.
According to him, the exports of processing industry products that rose quite large, namely palm oil, basic metals, not basic organic chemical iron sourced from agricultural products, jewelry and valuables, as well as semiconductors and other electronic components.
Meanwhile, based on the country and the main destination for exports, the value of non-oil and gas exports to China was recorded at US$34,46 billion, an increase of 8.09 percent compared to January to July 2024 of US$31.88 billion.
Puji added, from January to July, non-oil and gas exports to the United States, ASEAN and the European Union generally increased, while to India decreased.
Next, the value of non-oil and gas exports to the United States was recorded at 17.89 billion US dollars, an increase compared to January to July 2024 of 14.48 billion US dollars.
