JAKARTA - President Commissioner of PT PLN Energi Primary Indonesia (EPI) Nikson Silalahi invites young entrepreneurs who are members of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) to take opportunities in the supply of biomass for cofiring power plants.
Nikson emphasized that the supply of biomass does not only contribute to the national energy transition, but is also able to drive the people's economy. Especially now that the number of types of biomass that can be processed into renewable energy is increasing.
In 2020 there are only three types of biomass that can be used for cofiring. Now in 2025 it has grown to 14 types of biomass that can be utilized. This means that business opportunities and selling values are getting bigger," explained Nikson, quoted on Saturday, August 30.
Furthermore, he invited young entrepreneurs not only to become suppliers of raw materials, but also to take on a bigger role in the biomass supply chain.
"I invite these young entrepreneurs to seize this opportunity to become an energy source, not only can they help the government but can become a source of income for the nation's children," he added.

According to Nikson, HIPMI and the Indonesian Mineral & Coal Energy Suppliers Association (Aspebindo) are creative and innovative young entrepreneurs, so they have great capacity to become collaborators and motor drivers of the biomass-based renewable energy business.
"As a group of young Indonesian entrepreneurs, of course we believe HIPMI and Aspebindo are creative people who can seize this opportunity," he explained.
Of course, in this collaboration, said Nikson, this young entrepreneur can directly become a supplier of biomass to PLTU, which is served by PLN Group, including in this supply chain biomass scheme, can invest in building production facilities, blending facilities, and building a biomass stockpile as a main hub or subhub.
"PLN EPI is very open with pleasure and responsibility to cooperate with these young entrepreneurs," he concluded.
