Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan reported that the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes) is still waiting for the harmonization of derivative regulations from the Ministry of Finance so that the loan ceiling from the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) can be used immediately.
After attending a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Monday, Zulkifli said he was optimistic that this process could be completed in the next 1 week to 2 weeks.
"Indeed, the Minister of Finance's regulations are being harmonized, so the loan ceiling to Himbara Bank cannot be used until today," he said.
In the meeting which lasted about two hours, Zulhas promised implementation instructions (juklak) and technical instructions (juknis) related to financing could be issued no later than the next 2 weeks.
"It is hoped that in a short time, in a week or two it can be completed," he said.
Previously, Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono in his statement said that the financing harmonization process had been discussed with the relevant ministries and institutions.
The document will serve as a guideline for the national task force as well as the provincial, district and city levels in supporting the Red and White Kopdes.
Juklak and juknis contain basic criteria and procedures for Kopdes receiving loans, based on input from the DPR and banks. This regulation is expected to accelerate the operations of thousands of Kopdes throughout the country.
Around 7,000 of the 16,000 Red and White Kopdes registered via microsite are projected to be able to access early-stage financing to Himbara Bank.
