AHY Becomes The Steering Committee Of The Pantura Authority: Can Be Effective Again Working In The Field

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development (Menko IPK) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said he was appointed as the Steering Committee for the North Coast Management Authority (Pantura) of Java.

He admitted that he had communicated with the Head of the North Coast Management Authority of Java, Didit Herdiawan Ashaf, who had just been inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto today.

"We are the steering board, I am the steering board. Of course, with the North Java Coast Management Authority, this is very good, because I myself have communicated intensively with Admiral Didit who was appointed today by the President as Head of the Java Sea Embankment Authority," AHY told reporters in Jakarta, Monday, August 25.

According to him, the Pantura Authority Agency will greatly assist the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure in carrying out its duties. Because, they will focus on working on the construction project of the Giant Sea Sea Wall (GSW).

"I think this is something very good. We can be even more effective, because the Coordinating Ministry for Infra, right, must have institutions that can also be effective in working in the field and this is the body of the authority," he said.

In addition, according to AHY, the Pantura Authority Agency was formed so that its performance was more focused. Moreover, the project will take a very long time.

"Indeed, from the start, right, we helped you with the orchestration. So, we weren't alone, but precisely because this involved many parties, the existence of the Authority was very good in my opinion," said AHY.

"In fact, I can focus more on moving various other stakeholders," he concluded.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Vice Admiral TNI (Ret.) Didit Herdiawan Ashaf as Head of the North Coast Management Authority (Pantura) Java.

The inauguration took place at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday morning, based on Presidential Decree Number 76P of 2025 concerning the Appointment of the Head and Deputy Head of the North Coast Management Authority of Java.

Didit Herdiawan, who has now served as Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KP) since October 2024, has again won the President's trust to lead a special institution that handles the handling of robs and the construction of a giant sea embankment (Giant Sea Wall) in the Pantura area.

The son of the Bulukumba area, South Sulawesi, will lead the construction of a sea embankment that stretches from Banten to Gresik, East Java, with top priority in the Jakarta and Semarang areas.
