JAKARTA The Indonesian Merdeka Farmers will hold the 1st National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) on 27 August 29, 2025 at the Ministry of Agriculture Building, Jakarta.
This national forum will be a consolidation event for thousands of farmers and administrators of the Merdeka Farmers organization from all over Indonesia, to strengthen the role of farmers in national development.
Chairman of the National Leadership Council (DPN) Tani Merdeka Indonesia, Don Muzakir, said that Rapimnas would discuss a number of strategic issues, ranging from strengthening organizations, supporting national food security programs, to utilizing technology in agriculture.
"We want to ensure that the Merdeka Farmers are present as a people's strength that fully supports the national agricultural program. Farmers from various regions will carry aspirations and solutions to advance this country," said Don Muzakir accompanied by hundreds of members after holding a meeting with the Chairman of the Indonesian Independent Farmers Board, Sudaryono at the Ministry of Agriculture office, Friday, August 22.
This Rapimnas will also be a forum for explaining agricultural conditions from each region, both potential development and classical problems such as scarcity of fertilizers, pests, and access to technology.
Merdeka Farmers are targeting to be able to become an effective bridge between farmers and the government.
"We don't want to just be spectators. The Merdeka Farmers must go down directly and be part of a real solution in the field," said Don Muzakir.
The Rapimnas agenda also includes discussing support for government priority programs such as food estate development, land conversion, and encouraging productive and environmentally friendly sustainable agriculture.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Indonesian Merdeka Farmers Board who is also the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and General Chair of HKTI, Sudaryono, positively welcomed the initiative of the Merdeka National Commission Rapimnas Tani.
He emphasized the importance of synergy between farmer organizations and government strategic programs, especially in realizing national food security which is President Prabowo Subianto's priority.
"The independence team must be present in the midst of farmers. We all have to participate in the success of the national food security program launched by President Prabowo," said Sudaryono.
He emphasized that the active role of organizations such as the Merdeka Farmers is very much needed to ensure that farmers are not only able to survive, but also improve their welfare level.
