JAKARTA - Indonesian woven handicraft products created by MSME actors from East Java, namely PT Sang Bamboo Alam Indonesia managed to get an order or purchase order (PO) from the Malaysian buyer, namely Cemara Ayu Sdn. Bhd. with a value of IDR 239.50 million.
The Indonesian woven crafts are in the form of hats and pandan bags equipped with leather material, both original and synthetic. These products will be distributed to the hotel and tourism sectors in Malaysia.
The PO dated June 26, 2025 is the fruit of the successful implementation of business matching in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 14, 2025, facilitated by the Indonesian Trade Attach (Atdag) Kuala Lumpur.
The Indonesian Trade Attache (Atdag) Kuala Lumpur Aziza Rahmaniar Salam said this success also proves that business matching is an effective strategy to bring together Indonesia's superior products with global market needs.
"The success of MSMEs in woven crafts from East Java getting orders of Rp. 239.5 million to Malaysia is a success story. The MSME program can be exported. This also shows that Indonesian MSME products are able to compete in the global market by meeting buyers' requests in the hotel and tourism sectors," he said in an official statement, Friday, August 22.
Aziza said this business matching is part of the MSMEs Dare to Innovation Program, Ready to Adapt Exports (MSMEs can Export) initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Trade to print more exporters.
Furthermore, Aziza revealed that PT Sang Bamboo Alam Indonesia was one of three business matching participants. Other participants, namely Dona Doni Rattan, PT Gondosuli Multikarya Innovation. The implementation of business matching with Malaysian buyers this time also synergizes with the East Java Provincial Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag).
"We hope that more MSMEs will participate in finding export market opportunities through MSMEs that can be exported," he said.
Aziza explained that the agreement had moved the momentum of the export of woven products to Malaysia.
"The success of this export can be a consideration for establishing a memorandum of understanding between the two parties so that there is a further transaction agreement," added Aziza.
Meanwhile, the owner of PT Sang Bamboo Alam Indonesia, Pringga Aditiawan, appreciated the recommendations of the East Java Industry Office in the curation process by Atdag RI Kuala Lumpur.
"Hopefully PT Sang Bamboo Alam Indonesia can continue to contribute to increasing MSME exports, especially from the eastern Java region. I hope that Atdag RI Kuala Lumpur can continue to help become a mediator in finding buyers," said Pringga.
