Bank Jakarta won three awards at the Market Digitization Competition held by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with Perumda Pasar Jaya, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Bank Indonesia (BI).

Awards received include Best Banking Partners for Market B (Pasar Koja) and Market A (Pasar Mayestik) categories, as well as Partners for the Second Best Financial Literacy Bank.

Pramono said that market digitization is an important step to encourage transaction efficiency while at the same time supporting Jakarta's economic growth.

"Digitalization is inevitable. If the literacy process is not contested, the banking is not contested, the market is not observed, there will definitely be no spike. The results are extraordinary, the use of QRIS in 20 markets has increased by almost 47 percent, the NPWP of traders has increased significantly, and e-commerce transactions have jumped by more than 40 percent," said Pramono at Main Hall Tanah Abang Market Blok B, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 21.

According to him, digitalization also has a social impact, ranging from suppressing pickpocketing practices to reducing thuggery in the market. He added that Jakarta's contribution to the national economy reached 16.61 percent with a growth of 5.18 percent, higher than the national average of 5.12 percent.

President Director of Bank Jakarta, Agus H. Widodo, said that his party made this competition a momentum to strengthen financial literacy and inclusion for MSME players.

"We view the digitization of traditional markets as part of the transformation of Jakarta's financial ecosystem. This effort not only facilitates transactions through QRIS and EDC, but also opens wider access for MSMEs to be included in the formal financial system," said Agus.

The head of Mayestik Market, Dewi Ratna Furi, also welcomed the award received. According to him, collaboration with Bank Jakarta is a strategic step to ensure traditional markets remain relevant and competitive in the era of the digital economy.

Meanwhile, Bank Jakarta Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, emphasized that his party will continue to expand cooperation with Pasar Jaya. "We believe that market digitization will have a positive impact on empowering MSMEs as well as encouraging regional economic growth," explained Arie.

For information, of the 153 markets managed by Perumda Pasar Jaya, as many as 20 traditional markets are used as locations for digitalization piloting. They compete in the category of the Best Financial Digitization, and Massive Financial Access Program.
