People's Party In Sarinah Proof Of National Celebration Is A Machine For Economic Turnover

JAKARTA - The celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and the 63rd Anniversary of Sarinah this year emphasized that people's parties are not only about ceremonial matters, but also show the role of the creative economy as a motor of economic growth.

Coinciding with Indonesia's 80th Anniversary, InJourney held a People's Party with the theme Gemilang Nusantara, Legacy Kita Bersama on August 17, 2025 at Anjungan Sarinah Thamrin, Jakarta.

President Director of PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero), Maya Watono said more than 300,000 visitors crowded the carnival route from morning to night, making this event one of the biggest celebrations of Indonesia's independence.

Furthermore, Maya said that this people's party is not just a celebration, but an effort by SOEs to instill the spirit of love for the homeland and bring benefits that can be felt directly by the community.

"As SOEs in the aviation and tourism sectors, we carry out the responsibility to preserve Indonesian culture, be present in the midst of society, and become development agents that maintain the nation's heritage and make a real contribution to the welfare of the community," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, August 19.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Sarinah, Raisha Syarfuan, said that this celebration was also not just a matter of presenting entertainment, but also an opportunity to appoint MSMEs, move the people's economy, and strengthen a sense of pride in the nation's identity.

"Through InJourney, People's Party in Sarinah, culinary and craft MSMEs are given space to appear and reach a wider market, in line with the spirit of empowering the people's economy," he said.

Through this celebration, continued Raisha, the collaboration of SOEs is manifested in a big stage that not only celebrates independence, but also strengthens the role of the creative sector and MSMEs.

Among the five scattered stages, the InJourney People's Party stage in Sarinah is one of the centers of attention by displaying various Nusantara cultural wealth. More than 400 dancers performed colossal performances, ranging from the Papuan War Dance, Mangkunegaran Classic Dance, Bali Kecak Dance, to the Nusantara Children's Dance which reflected the beauty of Indonesian culture in the city center.
