Prabowo Calls The Lowest Poverty Rate In History

President Prabowo Subianto said that the Government had succeeded in reducing the poverty rate to 8.47 percent, to the lowest level in Indonesian history.

"The poverty rate was reduced to 8.47 percent, the lowest in history," he said in the submission of the 2026 State Budget Bill and Financial Notes in Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

In addition, Prabowo said that the Government is working hard to maintain inflation at a low level of 2.4 percent, so as to maintain price stability and people's purchasing power, especially vulnerable groups.

"This is real evidence, with hard work and seriousness we are able to fight for the fate of millions of Indonesians to live a more prosperous life," he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo said that investor optimism and confidence in the Indonesian economy were getting stronger.

According to him, this is reflected in the realization of investment in the first semester of 2025 which has met the APBN target, as well as the performance of the national stock market which continues to show a positive trend, even in the midst of global instability.

Prabowo said that various government priority programs have begun to have a real impact on the community, such as the free nutritious eating program (MBG) which has now reached around 20 million beneficiaries, and the free health check service has been received by more than 17 million people.

In the field of education, he added that the school revitalization program had touched more than 13,000 educational units, including schools and madrasas throughout Indonesia.

In addition, Prabowo conveyed that the initiative of the People's School has developed with the establishment of 100 schools, and the Red and White Cooperative program in villages and sub-districts has also been implemented and so far, 80,000 cooperatives have been formed, which are planned at the end of 2025, each of which will be equipped with storage warehouses, cold storage facilities, distribution outlets, as well as two operational trucks to support logistics activities and distribution of people's natural products.
