Warmly Welcomed People's School Students In Yogyakarta, Minister Dody: You Are The Nation's Future

SLEMAN - An atmosphere full of joy to welcome the arrival of the Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo at the 20 Sleman High School of Higher Education and Social Welfare (BBPPKS) Regional III Yogyakarta, Monday night 11 August.

This People's School is a development in Phase 1A which has been renovated by the Ministry of Public Works.

Minister Dody was warmly welcomed by the students with a big smile and boisterous applause.

The atmosphere became more and more familiar when Minister Dody joined the dinner with the students and listened directly to the dreams of the students, ranging from wanting to be a teacher, army, to chef (cheating champion).

"Let us express our gratitude to Mr. President Prabowo Subianto. The idea of this People's School comes from him, and maybe without him, this People's School will not exist," said Minister Dody.

The use of the Yogyakarta BBPPKS building as a People's School is clear evidence that the development of targeted education infrastructure can have a direct impact on improving the quality of life of the community.

The Ministry of Public Works is committed to supporting the People's School program to ensure that every child has the same opportunity to achieve a better future.

Support for facilities and infrastructure includes classroom facilities, laboratories, libraries, teacher rooms, prayer rooms, fields, dining rooms, UKS, and others.

The renovation was carried out by the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure of the Ministry of Public Works since May 10, July 8, 2025 and has been used for teaching and learning activities since July 14, 2025.

"This facility was built not only for a place to study, but also for growing self-confidence and big dreams. Stay diligent in learning, because you are the future of Indonesia," said Minister Dody.

High School High School 20 Sleman is one of the 63 SR locations for the first phase that has been renovated.

This location functions as a means of high school education with a total of 3 study groups, each with 25 students, bringing a total of 75 people, consisting of 27 men and 48 women.

The PU Ministry's support for the People's School program is a direct implementation of President Prabowo Subianto's vision in Asta Cita, which places the education sector as one of the main pillars to achieve Advanced Indonesia.
