Danantara Reveals The Number Of SOEs Managed To Increase To 1,050 Companies

JAKARTA - The Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) revealed that the number of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and their children and grandchildren who are in management reached 1,050 companies.

Managing Director and Chief Economist of Danantara Reza Yamora Siregar revealed that initially the number of SOEs was around 700 to 800 companies when Danantara was formed.

"When we arrived, there were an estimate of 700 to 800 SOEs. Every month we analyzed it, it seems that there are more and more times, now our estimate is around 1,050 SOEs," said Reza at the National Seminar P3N 25 Lemhanas RI, in Lemhanas, Jakarta, Monday, August 11.

According to Reza, the number of SOEs is not only made up of the parent company, but also includes children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

"So there is a child who is a BUMN, there is a grandson, there is a great-grandson, the great-grandson has another great-grandson," said Reza.

Reza assessed that the number of SOEs that reached the thousands was also inseparable from the large number of companies working on businesses outside of the main business or core business. In fact, there are state-owned companies that have businesses in the hotel sector, to property.

Many of our SOEs have activities outside of their core business. They have a hotel chain, have a hospital, have property. Now we have to synergize," he explained.

Therefore, Reza said Danantara was mapping SOEs with all its business lines to find out the exact figure of the total number of SOEs at this time.

Konsolidasi berbagai BUMN akan terus dilakukan ke dalam klaster-klaster sesuai lini bisnis yang serupa.

Targetnya, lanjut dia, jumlah BUMN bisa dirampingkan menjadi hanya 200 perusahaan ke depannya.

“Setelah kita melakukan sinergi, kita memperkuat model bisnisnya. Kami ingin dari sekitar 1.000-an jadi sekitar 200. Tapi yang 200 ini harus powerfull BUMN, kompetitif yang mempunyai daya saing teknologi dan human resource yang memumpuni,” tutur Reza.

The consolidation of various SOEs will continue to be carried out in clusters according to similar business lines.

The target, he continued, is that the number of SOEs can be increased to only 200 companies in the future.

"After we have synergized, we will strengthen the business model. We want around 1,000 to be around 200. But these 200 must be powerful SOEs, competitive ones who have the competitiveness of technology and human resources that build up," said Reza.
