JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo visited the Integrated Public School (SR) of the Integrated Center Prof. Dr. Soeharso in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), today.
In his review, Dody directly examined every school facility, ranging from classrooms, male dormitories, girls' dormitories to sanitation facilities such as toilets.
He saw firsthand the teaching and learning process and checked the feasibility of facilities, such as tables, chairs, whiteboards and room lighting.
Dody even took the time to interact with students, ask about their learning activities and encourage them to continue to be diligent in studying.
"Learning is the key to the future. Use this facility as well as possible, please keep it together and keep the enthusiasm for learning," he said in a written statement, Monday, August 11.
He also visited male and female dormitories to ensure the comfort, cleanliness and security of the students' home environment. Dody also checks the availability of beds, air ventilation, including toilets and sanitation facilities.
According to Dody, cleanliness and sanitation are important things to support teaching and learning activities.
"Cleanliness is part of character education. We want children to grow up in a healthy, safe and comfortable environment," he said.
The Integrated Center Prof. Dr. Soeharso Bantul is one of 63 SR locations for the first phase that have been renovated. The location is used as a means of high school education with a total of 10 study groups that can accommodate a total of 200 students, consisting of 83 sons and 117 daughters.
Integrated Center Prof. Dr. Soeharso, who was previously the Center for Research and Development of Social Welfare Services belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), was later renovated into a People's School.

The renovation was carried out by the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure of the Ministry of Public Works from May 10-8 July 2025 and has been used for teaching and learning activities since last July 14.
