JAKARTA - Perum Bulog ensures that rice stabilization of Supply and Food Prices (SPHP) is available on the market, and the quality is in accordance with government regulations. This SPHP rice is a solution so that people can still get rice at affordable prices.
To ensure that the distribution of government rice runs optimally, the Director of Perum Bulog, Febby Novita, made a working visit to Pabaeng-Baeng Village, Makassar City, South Sulawesi, today.
This visit was also accompanied by the Regional Leader of BULOG Sulselbar, the ranks of the Food Task Force, and Aster Kodam XIV/Hassanudin, as a form of cross-sectoral synergy in maintaining food stability in the regions.
Novi said this visit was part of an effort to ensure the distribution of SPHP rice went smoothly, as well as directly monitor rice prices and quality.
"We ensure the availability of SPHP rice in markets with prices and quality according to government regulations. SPHP rice is a solution so that people can still get rice at affordable prices, a maximum of IDR 12,500 per kg or IDR 62,500 for 5 kg," Febby said in an official statement, Thursday, July 31.
Furthermore, Febby emphasized that based on applicable regulations, SPHP rice should not be opened, kicked, or misappropriated, and can only be purchased for a maximum of two packs or 10 kg per person.
"We have checked directly with the traders, and they understand that SPHP products should not be opened. This is also in accordance with technical instructions from the National Food Agency," he said.
Febby also emphasized that the SPHP program is a form of market intervention by the government, especially when rice prices increase because they have not entered the harvest period.
"People don't need to panic, because the government comes with an affordable and quality choice of SPHP rice," he said.
