JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) through cooperation in operations with MARFRI and DMT, is working on a national strategic project, namely the Construction of the Cibeet Package II Dam. This project is a real step to support water, food and energy security in the West Java region.

The project worth IDR 1.81 trillion is targeted for completion in 1,860 calendar days, starting from September 4, 2023 to October 6, 2028. To date, project progress shows positive performance with a realization achievement of 12.62 percent, higher than the target of 4.50 percent.

The Cibeet Dam is designed as a Gravity Dam-type dam with Roller Compact Concrete (RC) materials, making it the third RCC dam in Indonesia and the first to be initiated by the Ministry of Public Works. The RCC technology allows the acceleration of construction and material efficiency, with the innovation of casting concrete without alump using fly ash and low cement, which is compacted with a vibro roller.

There are many strategic benefits from the presence of this Cibeet dam. Among other things, supporting irrigation covering an area of 8,837 hectares, increasing the planting index from 100% to 300 percent. In addition, it also provides a raw water supply of 3,770 liters/second for Bogor, Karawang, and Bekasi Regencies, as well as industrial areas. No less important than the existence of this dam, which reduces the flood discharge by 66 percent downstream of the Citarum River.

Associated with energy security. Later from this dam, it is planned to produce electricity from two renewable sources, namely Micro Hydro Power Plant (0.25 MW) and Solar Power Plant (110 MW) by utilizing inundation areas.

While technological innovation in this project is the use of LiDAR Drones for high-precision topography mapping. In addition, there is an application of RCC technology for structural efficiency and accelerated construction.

PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo stated that the construction of the Cibeet Dam is not just an infrastructure project, but a tangible manifestation of PTPP's contribution to strengthening the foundation of sustainable development in Indonesia.

"The technology and innovations we apply reflect PTPP's commitment to producing high quality projects and have a broad impact on the community, as well as side by side with the Asta Cita Pemerintah project, namely projects of pendangan, water and energy resilience," said Joko, in his statement, Thursday, July 24.

As a company that has been established since 1953, PTPP continues to strengthen its position as a pioneer in national strategic infrastructure development, with commitments to sustainable development principles and superior technology.
