Commissioner of the Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) Heru Pudyo Nugroho stated that the housing business credit (KUR) program was initiated to increase productivity and spur developers' ability to accelerate the 3 Million Houses Program.
According to Heru, the housing KUR has been eagerly awaited by entrepreneurs in the country's property industry. The reason is, the program is believed to be able to increase production capacity because it helps in terms of funding liquidity.
"So that the developer will increasingly have the ability to accelerate its production capacity. The housing support ecosystem, such as building shops, the building materials industry, iron, bricks, tiles and so on, can also increasingly have the ability in terms of liquidity to support the acceleration of the 3 Million House Program," said Heru when met after the BP Tapera Sarasehan event in Jakarta, Thursday, July 17.
By providing convenience and low production costs in making subsidized houses, said Heru, it is believed that this can increase the affordability of low-income people (MBR) to have housing.
"In terms of production, it can be affirmed by cheap financing, deliverers to end users will also be able to reach the affordability of MBR," he said.
Heru said that currently his party is still in the process of collecting input from various parties related to housing KUR. This is done so that when the policy is implemented it can have an impact on the economy at large.
"BP Tapera is currently in the process of collecting input with stakeholders, especially from small, medium-sized developers. What kind of input is in order to increase absorption capabilities later," he said.
On a separate occasion, the Director General of Urban Affairs of the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Sri Haryati said that currently her party is reviewing the criteria for developers who can get access to the housing KUR program.
"Now with all stakeholder associations we discuss the criteria, how to comply with the provisions," he said.
