JAKARTA - PT PLN Energi Primary Indonesia (PLN EPI) and PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in cooperation in the utilization and development of natural gas infrastructure and fuel oil (BBM).
PLN EPI President Director Rakhmad Dewanto explained that this collaboration is part of PLN EPI's long-term strategy in strengthening the primary energy supply chain, especially the development of gas infrastructure to support gas supply for PLN power plants in various parts of Indonesia.
"According to the mandate of RUPTL 2025-2034, PLN EPI continues to develop midstream gas/LNG infrastructure throughout Indonesia, both to convert fuel with natural gas and to new gas plants in support of renewable generators. In the development of this LNG midstream infrastructure, integration is needed with several existing infrastructures to ports to accelerate and provide efficiency," said Rakhmad, Thursday, July 17.
Furthermore, Rakhmad emphasized that Pelindo Multi Terminal's involvement as a strategic partner is a step that is in line with the spirit of SOE synergy.
PLN EPI's Director of Gas and Fuel, Erma Melina Sarahwati, said that SPMT has a port network and infrastructure that has the potential to support the development of gas infrastructure or LNG which is currently being developed by PLN EPI.
"This collaboration is expected to accelerate delivery projects as part of efforts to strengthen energy resilience and open up opportunities for the development of new clean and efficient energy-based businesses," said Erma.
Furthermore, Erma explained that this Memorandum of Understanding aims to establish cooperation in providing gas and fuel infrastructure for PLN generators and exploring other business opportunities that can be developed together. In addition, this collaboration is expected to be a catalyst for accelerating the national energy transition program which is being run by the Government.
