JAKARTA - Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Administration Agency (BPJPH) Ahmad Haikal Hasan said his party focused on financing 3.5 million free halal certificates to the construction of the Halal Product Guarantee Technical Service Unit (UPT JPH) in 2026.

This follows the approval of the addition of the 2026 BPJPH budget by Commission VIII DPR RI worth IDR 2.1 trillion to strengthen the implementation of the halal certification program and bring things closer and easier for halal services to the community.

"In it, including the budget for financing 3.5 million free halal certificates for micro and small business actors. Also to form BPJPH Representatives throughout Indonesia so that it is easier for people to get halal certification services," Haikal said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 17.

Furthermore, he said, it was BPJPH's job as a Non-Ministerial Government Institution (LPNK) to carry out government duties in the field of implementing halal product guarantees.

"As the only institution in Indonesia that has the authority to provide guarantees for halal products, BPJPH has a big vision in 2025-2029, namely the realization of the 2029 World Halal Center with Advanced Indonesia Towards Golden Indonesia 2045," said Haikal.

"This vision is in line with the vision and mission as stated in the 2025-2029 RPJMN and is a form of BPJPH's support for the achievement of President Prabowo Subianto's Work Program," he said.

In addition, Haikal said, the budget will also be used to strengthen the program for implementing guarantees for other halal products.

"Among them, digitization, socialization and education, and revision of the Halal Product Guarantee Act and Government Regulations on the Implementation of the Halal Product Guarantee Sector, and so on," he said.

"Of course we will carry out all of this in the spirit of efficiency as ordered by the President, taking into account the priority scale of the program and its implications for the wider community," he said.
