JAKARTA - Pertamina stated that it supports the Indonesian government's policy regarding tariff agreements with the United States (US).
Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero) Fadjar Djoko Santoso said that some time ago Pertamina had indeed signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with several partners in the US related to optimizing the procurement of feedstock or crude oil for Pertamina refineries in Indonesia.
"So yesterday we heard a joint statement from the United States (US) Government that we have reached a tariff agreement between the Government of Indonesia and the United States, of course Pertamina supports government policies, one of which is with us working together to optimize feedstock from our partners in the United States," said Fadjar quoting Antara.
Regarding the volume and value, he said that this could not be conveyed because it was still in the negotiation process and continued to grow.
In addition, he also said that Pertamina also opened the possibility of optimizing the increase in Liquefied Petroleum Gas or LPG.
As of 2024, Pertamina has procured 57 percent of the total LPG composition in Indonesia.
"So it means that it is already dominant, but the optimization for the increase is also open depending on later with us following the process together with the government for negotiations," said Fadjar.
Until now, the commodities discussed related to energy purchases from the US, namely crude oil and LPG. The implementation of these energy imports will be carried out in stages.
