JAKARTA - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN RB) Rini Widyantini said digital transformation aims to build public services that are more responsive, inclusive, and as needed, not just about applications.

"People often talk about digital transformation, where is the application, even though we are not just talking about applications," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 16.

On this occasion, he explained that the digital government and geospatial information are axes that unite development directions so that there is acceleration, targeting accuracy, and efficiency.

As one of the mandates of the 2025-2025-2025 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN), governance transformation emphasizes the components of government digital transformation efforts.

According to him, the government's digital transformation is not only an application or online service, but also a big job that includes system integration, governance, infrastructure, and organizational culture.

Therefore, the government encourages a use case approach or strategic service that needs to be supported by geospatial data and statistics as the foundation.

Furthermore, he also emphasized that the government's digital transformation is not the ultimate goal, but one of the strategies to realize Indonesia Gold 2045.

These two main program targets related to strengthening regulations and governance to the relevance of the competition of the state civil apparatus (ASN), must be accompanied by improvements on how geospatial information can support equal distribution of infrastructure, disaster mitigation, to social assistance (bansos).

"At the end of 2045, it was not about the magnificent buildings of the capitals, but about whether children in remote areas of Papua get fair service as children in Jakarta," said Rini.

The Minister of PAN RB emphasized that the government's digital transformation requires a strong foundation, namely a unified map, interconnected data, and targeted decisions.

Digital transformation is no longer just a matter of efficiency of the procedure or digitization of organizational services, but digital, open, and precise governance, which the bureaucracy says will create real value to bring justice.

The Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE/e-Government) approach is considered important to be the foundation, but it is necessary to go further into a digital government model that is more focused on impact, cross-sectoral collaboration, and community-need-based services.

"This is where the importance of the role of geospatial information is because it provides dimensions, places, locations, and where we will provide policies, so that the policy becomes more targeted and truly reaches those in need. Because in the end, the government is not just an administrative machine but as a liaison for hope and driving justice," said the Minister of PANRB.
