JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) has again made achievements in the international arena by being a speaker in two scientific studies at the 33rd International Group for Lean Construction (IGLC) annual conference held in Osaka and Kyoto, Japan, on June 2-6, 2025.

The presence of PTPP in this prestigious event emphasized the company's commitment to implementing and developing innovation in the field of Lean Construction. The PTPP delegation was represented by InsanPP, namely Rina Asri Aisyah and Galang Bastiono as Project Manager. They actively participated in the entire series of events, starting from Industry Day and Workshop Day in Osaka which coincided with Expo 2025, to Academic Conference Day for three consecutive days at Kyoto University.

Two international papers of PTPP have successfully passed the rigorous and published selection in Proceeding IGLC 33, which can be accessed through the official IGLC.net website. This success is not only a matter of pride for PTPP, but also inspires other works to contribute to the international-scale Lean Construction agenda.

PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo in his written statement, Friday, July 4, explained that PTPP's innovation in Scientific Studies at IGLC-33 presented two research themes that focused on increasing efficiency and effectiveness in construction projects, namely "Simulation of Takt Time Planning, Study Case: Housing In The New Capital City of Indonesia" (design System Production).

This research discusses an effective construction management strategy to complete the project on time, with a case study on the construction project of the State Civil Apparatus Flats (ASN Flats) in the State Capital (IKN) Indonesia. The ASN IKN Flats project faces complexities and high uncertainties, limited resources, and logistical problems.

In this study, PTPP used the Takt Time planning method a method in Lean Construction that adapts workflows to create efficient processes on complex projects. This research emphasizes the importance of Takt Time Planning being followed up with a control mechanism to achieve takt time consistency.

The second paper concerns "Bridging Theory and Practice: Evaluating Lean Construction with Lego Simulations" (Lean's Learning and Teaching) which discusses challenges in measuring the benefits of Lean Construction and Last Planner System (LPS) in practical applications.

The study analyses data from 40 LEGO-based construction simulations designed to explore key parameters affecting project results, such as costs, waste, time, safety, defects, and Percent Plan Complete (PPC). Using statistical methods such as correlation analysis and sensitivity, the study identifies costs as the most sensitive factor, while material waste management becomes an important driver to increase efficiency.

The participation of PTPP in IGLC-33, said Joko, is also a valuable opportunity to introduce Indonesian construction companies to the international construction community that have an interest and passion for Lean Construction. This is the second time PTPP has been present at the conference, after the IGLC-32 in Lille, France in 2023. This opportunity was also used to discuss directly with various leading figures of the world's Lean Construction, expanding the insight and network of PTPP in this field.

"Of course, PTPP's participation at this conference also received full support from the management ranks and in the future PTPP is committed to continuing to innovate and contribute to the development of efficient and sustainable construction practices, both at the national and international levels," said Joko.
