Bank Mandiri is committed to supporting the government's strategic agenda in accelerating the transformation of the people's economy, including strengthening village cooperatives so that they can create added value optimally and sustainably, and contribute to national economic growth.

Most recently, Bank Mandiri realized this support at the kick-off of the Capacity Building HR training and Strengthening the Red and White Village Cooperatives Institution (KDKMP) which was held on Wednesday Thursday, June 25 26 2025. This activity, which was initiated by the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs (Kemenko Pangan), became an important and decisive first step in encouraging village cooperatives as a pillar of driving an inclusive, adaptive, and highly competitive populist economy.

Related to this, Bank Mandiri provides training facilities at the Nawasena Building, Mandiri University, Mandiri Wijayakusuma Area, West Jakarta for more than 1,300 participants who are administrators and representatives of more than 150 KDKMP spread from various regions in Indonesia. A total of 348 participants attended directly (run), while another 1,000 participants joined online through digital platforms.

"Bank Mandiri believes that village cooperatives have great potential to become the driving force of the local economy. Through this synergy, we hope to help the Coordinating Ministry for Food strengthen the institutional foundation of cooperatives and accelerate their HR capacity to be more adaptive to the challenges and needs of the times," said Bank Mandiri President Director Darmawan Junaidi on the sidelines of the Capacity Building Training for Human Resources and Institutional Strengthening of the Red and White Village Cooperatives, in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 25 which was attended by the Coordinating Minister for Food and the Chair of the KDKMP Task Force Zulkifli Hasan, ministers and deputy ministers concerned, as well as several SOE Directors.

Furthermore, Darmawan explained that Bank Mandiri not only provided logistical facilities and support, but also contributed to the filling of training materials. The material presented regarding financial understanding and sharing sessions so that the presence of KDKMP has a more optimal impact on strengthening the village economy and the nation's independence.

In the sharing session, Bank Mandiri collaborated with Goris Mustaqim, one of the social driving figures and national mentors in the Independent Young Entrepreneurs (WMM) program, to provide inspiration and motivation to participants. The presence of Goris is expected to be able to provide a practical perspective in building a collaborative and broad-impact village-based entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Through this training, Bank Mandiri is optimistic that cooperative administrators can be better prepared to implement the strategic role of KDKMP in their respective villages, especially in expanding financial inclusion, encouraging local entrepreneurs, and strengthening the resilience of the village economy.

Bank Mandiri's commitment is in line with the sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly in creating decent jobs, reducing gaps, and expanding access to formal financial services. With a strong synergy between financial institutions, governments, and the village community, cooperatives can become an important node in building the Indonesian economy from the village.
