JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI continues to strengthen its role as a strategic partner of the Government in providing tangible benefits for the community and improving workers' welfare in a sustainable manner.
One tangible manifestation of BRI's commitment to supporting the government's strategic program is reflected in its participation in the distribution of Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU). In 2025, BRI is again trusted as a BSU channeling bank, which is intended to maintain workers' purchasing power in meeting their daily needs as a result of rising prices.
This appointment also continues a similar mandate that BRI has held in 2020 and 2022. At that time, the BSU program was rolled out by the Government as part of efforts to maintain purchasing power and support national economic stability amid the pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was recorded that in 2020, BRI distributed BSU to around 1.4 million workers as beneficiaries. Meanwhile, in 2022, BRI again carried out the assignment with a wider scope, distributing aid to 3.2 million workers with a total value of Rp1.92 trillion. The entire distribution process is carried out in an integrated and data-based manner from the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker).
Related to this, BRI Corporate Secretary Agustya Hendy Bernadi said that BRI's role as a distributor of subsidy assistance for the community has become part of the Company's commitment to always be present and provide tangible benefits in the community.
"Through the government's program that is in favor of the people, BRI will continue to be committed to strengthening its role as a development agent that always provides easy-to-reach, safe, and direct impact on the wider community," he said.
Furthermore, as a bank with the widest service network in Indonesia, BRI also ensures easy access for all BSU recipients through various channels. Beneficiaries can disburse aid funds through BRI ATMs, BRImo applications, CRM/EDC machines, as well as more than 1.19 million AgentBRILinks spread across the country.
The presence of BRImo super apps, e-channels to BRILink Agents in the community makes the process of disbursing funds easier, faster, and inclusive, even in areas that have not been reached by branch offices.
It should be noted that the 2025 Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) program was rolled out by the Government as one of the steps to strengthen the national economic stimulus. Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, the Government provided BSU worth IDR 300,000 per month to 17.3 million workers with a salary of less than IDR 3.5 million per month or below the provincial/district/city minimum wage.
The facility is also given to 288,000 honorary teachers at the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) and 277,000 honorary teachers at the Ministry of Religion. Meanwhile, wage subsidy assistance will be distributed at once in June 2025 with a budget derived from the APBN of IDR 10.72 trillion
Referring to the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower (Permenaker) No. 5 of 2025, BSU recipients themselves must meet a number of criteria, which include Indonesian citizens who have NIK, active BPJS Employment participants until April 2025, pay a maximum of IDR 3.5 million per month, not ASN, TNI, or Polri, and do not receive other social assistance such as the Family Hope Program (PKH) when distribution is carried out.
