Hutama Karya: The Progress Of The Pekanbaru Busypass Section Toll Road Reaches 53.76 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) reported that the progress of Pekanbaru's Pekanbaru Toll Road Construction Section of the Pekanbaru Index (Bypass Pekanbaru) has reached 53.76 percent to date.

This was conveyed by the Executive Vice President (EVP) of the Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim while accompanying the visit of Deputy Chairmen of Commission V DPR RI Robert Rouw and Syaiful Huda along with other members of Commission V DPR RI at the Rest Area KM 45 Pekanbaru Toll Road "Dumai," Thursday, June 19.

"The construction of the Pekanbaru 'Pekanbaru' Toll Road Section of the Pekanbaru 'Bypass Pekanbaru' which is being built by Hutama Karya has reached construction progress of 53.76 percent," said Adjib as quoted from his written statement, Friday, June 20.

The total length of toll roads that have been operating in Riau Province has reached 187.09 kilometers, consisting of the Pekanbaru 'Dumai' Toll Road (131.69 kilometers) and the Pekanbaru 'Bangkinang' XIII Koto Kampar (55.4 kilometers) Toll Road. The two sections have been equipped with six rest areas with local MSME tenant allocations of more than 30 percent.

According to Adjib, the toll roads that have been built not only facilitate the flow of logistics and mobility of residents, but also support the tourism sector and increase regional competitiveness.

The Pekanbaru 'Dumai Toll Road also connects the city center to the strategic Roro Dumai Port on the east coast of Sumatra, while the Pekanbaru 'XIII Koto Kampar Toll Road is an important corridor towards West Sumatra Province in the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) network.

In addition to operating and under construction, said Adjib, Hutama Karya is also preparing to build two new toll roads which are currently in the planning stage, namely the Pekanbaru 'Junction' Toll Road (176 kilometers) and the Dumai 'Rantau Prapat (181 kilometers) Toll Road. Both sections are designed to strengthen connectivity to the Tanjung Buton Industrial Estate and Bird Island in Indragiri Hilir.

"With the development carried out in stages, we are committed to presenting an integrated toll road network and having a direct impact on regional economic development," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission V DPR RI Robert Rouw assessed that the existence of toll roads in Riau, especially the Pekanbaru 'Dumai Toll Road and the Pekanbaru' Bangkinang Toll Road have opened new access and accelerated community mobility and logistics.

"We appreciate the toll roads that have been operating and encourage the growth of industrial estates and logistics. This proves the importance of accelerating the development of new sections in Riau," he explained.
