Supply Of A Third National Gas Needs, Bahlil Gives Additional Revenue Sharing Funds To Teluk Bintuni Regency

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia ensured that Bintuni Bay will receive additional Revenue Sharing Funds (DBH) in 2027.

According to him, Teluk Bintuni Regency is a national energy barn. More than a third of the national gas needs are supplied by this Regency.

"And today I came to visit Genting Oil and BP Tangguh. In 2027 I will confirm the addition of Revenue Sharing Funds for Bintuni and Fak-Fak. It has started to come out in late 2027," said Bahlil, quoted Thursday, June 12.

He said the Teluk Bintuni Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) was quite jumbo for the district size, which was around Rp. 3.1 trillion. This value is not much different from West Papua Province, the province where Bintuni Bay took refuge, which is around Rp. 3.5 trillion.

"Almost the same (West Papua Province and Teluk Bintuni district). The difference is, the Governor manages 7 regencies. The Regent is 24 districts," said Bahlil.

He said the magnitude of the Bintuni Regional Budget was caused by this district's DBH oil and gas.

"Want to add more PAD-nya? That's why I came here," said Bahlil.

On that occasion, Minister Bahlil reminded that the increase in energy production in Bintuni Bay is part of Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo-Gibran.

"Mr. Prabowo's program in Asta Cita has four, at least four that are always discussed. The first is food sovereignty, the second is energy, the third is downstreaming, and the fourth is nutritious food," said Bahlil.

Of these four programs, he said, two of them were the tasks of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"Two of us are related to energy sovereignty and downstreaming," said Bahlil.
