JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia asked the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman to record a number of SMEs deemed appropriate to manage mines.

According to Bahlil, in the near future the Government Regulation (PP) which regulates mining for MSMEs will be completed soon.

"I offered to the Minister of MSMEs, immediately carry out an inventory. Which MSMEs are patented, the PP will have to finish soon," said Bahlil, quoted on Wednesday, June 11.

However, Bahlil did not explain further when this PP would be issued. However, he confirmed that in the near future it would be completed so that he asked the Minister of MSMEs to start collecting data.

"The mining PP will be finished soon. If the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources talks about the concept, yes, but also has to be executed. Don't just turn around, there will be no serious executions later," continued Bahlil.

The general chairman of the Golkar Party added that the SMEs that are prioritized to manage mines are professional entrepreneurs to prevent efforts to procure mining business licenses (IUP).

"We only give to entrepreneurs who are already professionals. So don't let the mining IUP happen again," he continued.

Not only that, but Bahlil also emphasized that SMEs that manage mines should not use credit. Therefore, he firmly asked the Minister of MSMEs to add that the SME criteria that can manage mines are SMEs that do not use credit.

"So if the mine doesn't get credit, it's not allowed. If the credit part will be in the Cooperatives section. We have to differentiate. Small ones, please credit. Those who start taking care of mines, can't credit," he said.
