JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia opened his voice regarding PT Shell Indonesia's decision to release the business of the Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) in Indonesia.
Bahlil said the decision was a corporate action of a company that usually occurs in a business entity or business to business (B2B).
"Yes, it's a corporate action, it's normal, B2B corporate action. So because they are not BUMN, we have to respect the rights of every private company that carries out corporate actions," Bahlil told the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, May 23.
Bahlil added that Shell did not close all gas stations in Indonesia, but instead transferred ownership of all business units of the Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) in Indonesia to Citadel Pacific Limited and the Sefas Group.
"He's selling doesn't mean he's closing his business. That's just the transfer of company ownership. So what's the influence? He's still going on," said Bahlil.
Just so you know, Shell Indonesia announced that it has approved the transfer of ownership of all Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) businesses in Indonesia.
This business is transferred to a joint venture between Citadel Pacific Limited and the Sefas Group.
"The transfer of business ownership includes the Shell gas station network as well as supply activities and distribution of fuel in Indonesia and does not cover the growing Shell lubricant business in Indonesia," said Vice President Corporate Relations of Shell Indonesia Susi Hutapea in a statement received by VOI, Friday, May 23.
