JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati officially inaugurated 22 officials at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu).

In addition, Sri Mulyani also advised the new inaugurated officials that the task they would carry was not easy.

"The important task on your shoulders is to serve the nation, manage state finances credible, reliable and reliable. This task is not easy because in these days and in the future economic challenges and challenges in the field of state finances will continue to be dynamic complex and even difficult," he said at the inauguration ceremony, Friday, May 23.

He explained that as the authority for managing state finances, the Ministry of Finance has various responsibilities, ranging from formulating macro and fiscal economic policies, collecting state revenues, to managing state spending, both at the central and regional levels.

In addition, Sri Mulyani added that the Ministry of Finance also manages prudent, agile, and effective financing and treasury, and manages state assets or assets so that the role of the Ministry of Finance is not merely as an administrator.

"The law that regulates us and the responsibility and oath of office that you have just said, is to implement laws and regulations in the field of state finances, especially state treasury financial laws, laws regarding state money and various other laws such as taxation, customs and excise, as well as regarding financing and state wealth," he said.

According to him, all of this is the basis for carrying out the duties and oaths of office that you have just said, therefore, the role of officials in the Ministry of Finance is vital.

"With such a wide responsibility that affects the lives of many people, officials at the Ministry of Finance have a very important role, maintain public trust, maintain state finances and continue to strive to bring Indonesia forward with professionally managed state finances, trust, accountability, transparency," he said.
