JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen its business foundation in the midst of global economic dynamics. Under the leadership of BRI President Director Hery Gunardi, the company has established a long-term growth strategy that focuses on strengthening fundamentals both in terms of funding, lending quality, increasing digital capabilities, implementing adequate risk management to developing human resources.
This strategy is carried out as part of BRI's commitment to grow in a healthy, sustainable and inclusive manner, as well as answering challenges and opportunities in all market segments.
In the Press Conference on BRI Financial Performance Quarter I 2025 which was held in Jakarta (30/04), Hery Gunardi emphasized one of the company's strategies, namely strengthening the funding structure, especially through the growth of low-cost funds or CASA. "BRI must have strength in terms of funding, especially CASA, both currently and in the future. For this reason, BRI accelerates CASA's growth, starting from the consumer segment, MSMEs, to strengthening the acquisition of liability banking segments. BRI has very strong retail transaction engines through BRImo superapps, which currently have been used by more than 40 million customers," he said.
Hery also said that strengthening the funding structure cannot be separated from digital integration, network productivity, and business synergy in the BRI ecosystem.
"BRI will conduct fine tuning for UI and UX super apps BRImo. Strengthening productivity is also carried out through the use of QRIS and AgentBRILink which play an important infrastructure in supporting the increase in BRI CASA. In addition, synergies with subsidiaries such as Pegadaian, PNM, and others will continue to be strengthened to form synergies that support each other and are able to increase the acquisition of liabilities, especially savings and demand," he explained.
BRI also continues to strengthen digital solutions for corporate customers through the Qlola platform which is designed to support integrated transaction needs. This platform offers various features that allow customers to carry out financial activities in the BRI ecosystem as a whole. Along with that, BRI also focuses on product development such as mortgages and BRIguna (payroll loan-based credit) as part of a credit diversification strategy outside the MSME financing segment.
Human resource development is the key in building adaptive and competitive organizations. "Human capital is the focus of new management where BRI will place the best individuals in the right position, the right man in the right place. Human capital development is not only carried out through domestic training, but also through advanced education programs in foreign business schools," said Hery.

Risk management is also an integral element in BRI's expansion strategy. This is important to ensure that every growth initiative is carried out prudently. "Risk management is not just a control function that says no to risks. In fact, this approach must be a way to understand and manage risks appropriately so that businesses can continue to grow and develop healthily," said Hery.
In the midst of the dynamics of a challenging global economy, BRI Group recorded a good performance along the first quarter of 2025 with a net profit of IDR 13.80 trillion and assets of IDR 2,098.23 trillion, growing 5.49% on an annual basis. Credit disbursement reached IDR 1,373.66 trillion, with a portion of MSMEs of 81.97 percent or equivalent to IDR 1,126.02 trillion. In the future, BRI will continue to develop its capabilities towards universal banking which will enable comprehensive services for all customer segments in Indonesia.
For information, BRI President Director Hery Gunardi was appointed at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on March 24, 2025 and was able to carry out duties and functions in his position after obtaining approval of the Assessment of Ability and Compliance from the Authority of Social Services.
