JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Divre IV Tanjungkarang carried out socialization activities to fight sexual harassment in the station area as well as the Rajabasa and Kualastabas Railway (KA) carriages.

"This activity is part of an effort to create safe, comfortable, and free public space and transportation from sexual violence, especially in the railway transportation environment," said Acting Executive Vice President of Divre IV Tanjungkarang Mohamad Ramdany, in Bandarlampung, Thursday.

He said, as part of this campaign, KAI has also provided accessible reporting facilities, either directly to officers or through the company's official channel.

"All reports will be followed up according to applicable procedures in order to provide protection to victims," he said.

KAI will also, he continued, impose strict and severe sanctions on perpetrators of sexual harassment in public transportation environments, including on trains, stations, and other supporting facilities.

"For perpetrators of harassment, they will be given a blacklist status and sanctions will not be allowed to board the train for the next 1 year," he said.

Ramdany hopes that through this activity, KAI Divre IV Tanjungkarang can encourage collective awareness of the community to jointly maintain security and comfort in the station and train environment.

"KAI also invites the public not to hesitate to report if they see or experience harassment in public transportation. Fighting sexual harassment is a shared responsibility. Victims must be protected, perpetrators must be punished," he said.
