JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) and the Central Board of the Indonesian Notary Association, have agreed on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding their support in making the Deed for the Establishment of the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes/kel Merah Putih).
"The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding aims to establish a Cooperation between the Ministry of Cooperatives and the Central Management of the Indonesian Notary Association in the context of supporting the establishment of 80,000 Village/District Cooperatives of Merah Putih in accordance with the duties, functions, and authorities of the parties," said Hendra, Deputy for Institutional Affairs and Digitization of Cooperatives in his report.
Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperatives (Seskemenkop) Ahmad Zabadi said the signing of the MoU was also part of the implementation of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 9 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of the Establishment of Village Cooperatives/Red Putih Villages, mandated 18 ministries/agencies, governors, and regents/mayors.
"Especially for taking comprehensive steps in implementing strategic policies to optimize and accelerate the formation of 80 thousand Red and White Village Cooperatives, which will be launched on July 12, 2025, to coincide with the celebration of the National Cooperative Day," he said, quoted Friday, April 25.
Zabadi emphasized that in supporting the acceleration of the formation of cooperatives, the role of Notaries, especially Notaries making Cooperative Deeds, is very important.
"The cooperation between the Ministry of Cooperatives and the Central Executive of the Indonesian Notary Association is a strategic step to oversee the process of establishing the Red and White Village Cooperative," he said.
Currently, there are 17,355 Notaries making Cooperative Deeds registered with the Ministry of Cooperatives, spread throughout Indonesia.
