JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) opens up opportunities for SOEs with Perum status to be converted into Limited Companies (PT), to then be included in the management of the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara).
Responding to this, the President Director of Perum Jasa Tirta I Fahmi Hidayat said the company was waiting for directions from shareholders, in this case the Ministry of SOEs.
"(The change of Perum to PT) We are waiting for a decision from the capital owner, in this case the Ministry of SOEs," he said after a Hearing Meeting (RDP) at the DPR RI Jakarta Building, Wednesday, April 23.
Furthermore, Fahmi admitted that he was ready to conduct studies if his party was asked to change Perum's business entity to PT.
"Ready, later there will be studies to be carried out. Because it used to be running, then this was evaluated," he said.
However, Fahmi considered it inappropriate for Jasa Tirta to change to PT. Because the company does many assignments that are community service in nature.
"Well, because we are Perum, our assignments are not right, and it doesn't fit if it takes the form of PT, so it's still in the form of Perum," he said.
Previously, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir admitted that he was mapping which state-owned companies still have the status of Public Companies (Perum), and those with Limited Company Status (PT).
Erick explained that this study was carried out following the issuance of the third amendment to the BUMN Law (UU). Including, the presence of the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Dantara) which is tasked with managing SOEs.
"With of course the new SOE Law, we are also mapping the so-called Perum and PT," said Erick at the BUMN Ministry office, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 12.
Furthermore, Erick explained that SOEs with PT status will automatically be included in the management of BPI Danantara.
"Because if it's part of PT, we will transfer it to Danantara," he explained.
Meanwhile, continued Erick, the management of state-owned enterprises with the status of Perum is still being studied more deeply regarding the ideal scheme for the state-owned company.
Erick also explained that the SOE Perum option to transform into PT was under the command of the President. He also said he would discuss it with the relevant technical ministries.
"What is the status of Perum? Now, what we are discussing in the Ministry of SOEs, it could be that Perum migrated to PT, several Perums that we do see are not pure corporations, we could discuss later with other ministries," he said.
For example, Perum Bulog, continued Erick, Bulog management is being considered whether under the President, or in other technical ministries. The state-owned company is an extension of the government's hand in implementing stock stabilization and food prices (SPHP).

"Well, everything is still being discussed, because the changes to this law are ongoing," he said.
In addition, Erick also ensured that SOEs engaged in the work sector would also be included in the management of the Danantara.
For your information, a number of state-owned works are still facing the challenges of restructuring and transformation. Such as PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, and so on.
"If all SOEs are certain, all of them are under the Danantara. Because of the consolidation of 900 billion US dollars, we will achieve it with a future transition," said Erick.
