Plus IDR 8.1 Trillion In Funds, IKN Development Was Delayed Again

JAKARTA - Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, ensured that the construction of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) located in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) would continue.

This was stated when he attended the Regional Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) meeting of East Kalimantan, which was attended by a number of local daaerah government officials, the TNI and the Police, took place at the IKN Authority Office, on Wednesday, April 16.

"Alhamdulillah, we have received certainty. So all unfinished follow-up work will be completed by the ministry, be it airports, toll roads, vice presidential palaces, mosques, or roads that have been contracted through multiyear contracts will be continued, and there is already a budget at the Ministry of Public Works," he said in a written statement, Friday, April 18.

As a form of operational readiness, as many as 1,500 workers will be employed to complete the construction of the capital city of Indonesia's new country.

"With the certainty of the continuation, we ask all service providers to immediately mobilize their workforce. Today 1,500 people have entered through several Hercules aircraft clusters," said Basuki.

The certainty of the continued IKN development is marked by the finalization of the IKN Authority's budget implementation list (DIPA).

"The budget for road asphalting and work along the streets of the KIPP area has been finalized in our DIPA, with a budget of around Rp. 5.4 trillion from OIKN and an additional Rp. 8.1 trillion for judicial and legislative areas that will be carried out soon," said Basuki.

Basuki also dismissed that IKN development would not continue, aka stalled due to the government budget efficiency policy. Development work in the future, he said, would be completed through ministry governance.

The former Minister of PUPR is committed that the IKN Authority and all stakeholders will continue to build the capital city of the archipelago. Currently, the construction of phase II of IKN has begun. The auction process, handover of management, and the implementation of the next work will be carried out soon.

"I don't think there is a reason not to continue development. President Prabowo has also conveyed that IKN development and budgeting are included in the National Strategic Project (PSN)," he said.
