Confiscated Imported Goods Worth IDR 15 Billion, Minister Of Trade Budi: Majority From China

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) confiscated goods that were not in accordance with the provisions or illegal, the total value reached Rp. 15 billion. The majority of these imported goods came from China.

The imported goods that did not comply with this provision were obtained after conducting supervision during the period January to March 2025.

Trade Minister Budi Santoso said that the imported goods did not meet standard regulations. Such as not in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), not using Indonesian language labels, no guarantee cards and health, safety, security and environmental registration numbers (K3L).

From these findings, continued Budi, the most imported products or goods came from the Bamboo Curtain Country, aka China.

In more detail, Budi said that most of these findings came from imported products with 10 companies and 5 product categories, namely electronics, children's toys, textiles and textile products (TPT), footwear, and metal products.

"As for local products, we found 10 companies that violated the 2 product categories, namely electronics and footwear," he said.

The details, continued Budi, are electronic products of 297,781 pieces, consisting of 3,506 pieces of rice cookers, audio videos, namely active speakers and television with 4,518 pieces, and fans with 60,366 pieces.

Then, the fitting of lights in the amount of 210,040 pieces, luminers in the amount of 480 pieces, small electricity in the amount of 1,140 pieces, air fry in the amount of 1,894 pieces, electric wires as many as 87 rollers, primary batteries totaling 15,250 pieces, electric gerindra with 500 pieces.

Then children's toys totaled 297,522 pieces, footwear amounting to 1,277 pieces, bed linen amounting to 100 pieces, motor vehicle wheels amounting to 905 pieces. The estimated economic value of goods in total is IDR 15 billion," he said.

Budi said that as a follow-up, the Ministry of Trade would clarify items that were not in accordance with these provisions.

"We also ask business actors to immediately withdraw goods from the circulation and fulfillment of the required licensing administration," he said.

Related to this, Budi said the sanctions that can be given are in various forms. Starting from written warnings, temporary suspension of all activities and/or revocation of business licensing.

"The warning direction is written until business actors make improvements to violations committed and termination of service services and prohibition on trading, and withdrawing goods from the distribution and destruction of goods," said Budi.
