Hutama Karya Still Frees 5 Trans Sumatra Toll Roads

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) still provides free services for travelers on five sections of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) during the 2025 Eid backflow period.

The Executive Vice President (EVP) of the Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya, Adjib Al Hakim, detailed that this free service consists of 2 sections that are operated without tariff or unpaid, namely the Betung - Tempino - Jambi (Bejahat) Section 3 (Bayung Lencir - Tempino) and Binjai - Langsa Toll Road (Binsa) Section Tanjung Pura - Pangkalan Brandan, as well as 3 other sections that have not been charged a tariff, namely the Pekanbaru - Padang Section - Sicin (Pacin) Toll Road (35.90 km), Sigli - Banda Aceh (Sibanceh) Section Padang Tiji - Seulimeum (23.95 km), and Palembang - Betung (Paltung) Toll Road Section 2 GT Rengas / Landas Base Balai Base (30.67 km).

"The opening of this functional segment will take place every day until April 10, 2025, at 08.00-17.00 WIB for the Pacin and Sibanceh Section 1 Toll Roads, while the Paltung Section 2 Toll Road will be operated at 07.00 WIB -16.00 WIB," he said, Thursday, April 3.

He added that the policy of operating without tariffs and opening of this functional section is expected to provide comfort and smoothness for road users during the 2025 Eid backflow.

Meanwhile, specifically for backflow, the one way scheme applies to the Palembang - Betung Toll Road from Jambi to Palembang. The three functional sections are only intended for Class I (non-bus) vehicles such as private cars and other small vehicles.

"Heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses, and non-Group I vehicles have not been allowed to pass," added Adjib.

He continued, the JTTS functional segment received a positive response from road users since it was opened during the Lebaran homecoming flow on March 24 to 31, 2025, with a total traffic of 63,619 vehicles. Among the three functional sections operating, the Padang - Sicin section was recorded as the most popular, passed by 33,794 vehicles. In terms of time, the highest traffic occurred on D-3 Lebaran or March 28, 2025, with a total of 9,783 vehicles and on D Lebaran Day (March 31, 2025) with a total of 9,997 vehicles.

Adjib also said that in addition to operating functional toll roads, Hutama Karya also still provides a 20 percent toll tariff discount on the main JTTS sections during the 2025 Lebaran return flow period.

The toll tariff discount applies to all groups of vehicles with the furthest distance travel and is enforced in two periods, namely on April 3, 2025 at 07.00 WIB until April 5, 2025 at 07.00 WIB and April 8, 2025 at 07.00 WIB until April 10, 2025 at 07.00 WIB.

This tariff discount applies to the Terbanggi Besar Kayu Agung (Pereka), Indralaya Prabumulih (Indraprabu) toll road, Pekanbaru Dumai (Permai) toll road, Indrapura Kisaran (Inkis) toll road, and Kuala Tanjung - Tebing Tinggi - Parapat (Kutepat) toll road.

The implementation of the tariff discount policy coupled with Work From Anywhere (WFA) has proven to be effective in unraveling congestion and distributing the volume of vehicles evenly. It can be seen from the significant increase in the period, as well as changes in the trend of going back and forth, so that the flow of vehicles is more distributed and does not accumulate too much in the period H-10 to D-1, "explained Adjib.
