JAKARTA - Giant Sea Wall (GSW) is included in the National Strategic Project List (PSN) as stated in the 2025-2029 RPJMN.

Deputy Minister of Public Works (PU) Diana Kusumastuti said that later there would be a task force or task force that handles the development of one of the PSN projects.

"Currently, the Coordinating Ministry for Regional Infrastructure and Development (IPK), Mr. AHY, has received an assignment from the President for Giant Sea Wall and he was asked to create a special task force for handling the coast of the North Coast (Pantura) in Java," Diana said when met at her office, Wednesday, March 12.

Diana explained that GSW will spread from Banten to East Java or to be precise from Tangerang to Gresik. The project will also have a length of about 946 kilometers.

For the construction of GSW, the government has also opened up opportunities for work with a private financing scheme.

"PU here as a working group (work group) for development and later (worked) not only with the state budget, the hope is that this private sector can become a strategic partner for the development of GSW and protection of Pantura," he said.

For the big plan, Diana said, investment is also possible to become a multi-sector.

This is because GSW also has the potential to be built in one unit with several other infrastructures, such as toll roads above GSW, electricity generation facilities to residential areas.

"Those are multi-sectors, a very wide area of 946 km (covering) four provinces, namely Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java. Well, there are sanitation, water, flood control, toll roads, dams, reservoirs. Maybe there will be residential areas too," explained Diana.

One of the toll projects that will have the potential to become a unit with GSW is the Semarang Harbor toll road project that connects the Kendal industrial area with the Tanjung Emas Port Semarang.
