Manage The AGO's Confiscated Palm Oil Plantation, Agrinas Palma Nusantara Reveals Its Scheme

JAKARTA - PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) which was appointed to manage a palm oil area of 221,000 hectares (ha). The land comes from evidence of the corruption case investigation carried out by the Attorney General's Office against PT Duta Palma Group.

President Director of Agrinas Palma Nusantara, Agus Sutomo, said that his party has prepared good management for the 221,000 ha area. For example, in accordance with the applicable Indonesian Sustainability Palm Oil (ISPO) certification.

Agus also ensured that his governance was supervised by the Attorney General's Office, in this case the Deputy Attorney General for State Administration (Jamdatun).

"We will work as well as possible and be sustainable in accordance with the applicable ISPO or Indonesia Sustainability Palm Oil. Then, in order to be effective, later we will also be assisted by Jamdatun," he said at a press conference at Danareksa Tower, Jakarta, Monday, March 10.

Agus said that the management of oil palm land will also be carried out comprehensively. Later, every 17,000 ha of oil palm land will be designated as one regional area.

"There it is led by regional heads, then oversees 5 general managers, oversees 25 managers, carries 125 up-the-links or assistant managers with so many people, the foremanes, the farmers, as well as the employees who are part of the harvesting, buying, and so on," he said.

He ensured that the management would run well, referring to the plan. Agus also said that his party was preparing procedures for oil palm management, as well as running it openly in a variety of transparency.

"Essentially, we Agrinas Palma with the determination to increase productivity, as well as improve the welfare of employees, will also improve all lines of life in the garden, be it the infrastructure, the maintenance system, then the equipment, then the applicable SOPs," he said.

"We will manage it openly. Everything can see, can control it," he continued.

Previously, the Attorney General's Office (AGO) officially handed over confiscated palm oil land from the corruption proceeds of PT Duta Palma covering an area of 221,000 hectares (ha) to the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).

The land was handed over through the signing of evidence of oil palm plantations carried out by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin and Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir. Then, the Ministry of SOEs handed over the management of the 221,000 ha oil palm plantation to PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero).

Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jam Pinsus) Febrie Ardiansyah said his party had entrusted the confiscated assets to protect evidence in line with the ongoing legal process.

The legal process takes time. So we don't want the quality of this evidence to go down. We don't want there to be uncertainty in the thousands of workers. There are quite a lot of workers (in oil palm plantations on confiscated land)," he said at the Danareksa Tower, Jakarta, Monday, March 10.

Febrie said the Attorney General's Office hopes that by entrusting the confiscated assets, the company's operations can run normally so that employees can still work.
