Realization Not In Accordance With RPJMN, Economic Growth Of Eight Percent Is Only An Angan-Angan

JAKARTA Bright Institute economist, Awalil Rizky said the economic growth target of eight percent set by the government to realize Indonesia Gold's vision 2045 is only hope and wish.

According to him, the narrative of the strategy for growth targets to be achieved seems inadequate in the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) document.

"Most of it is in the form of statements of desire and hope, there is little connection between the steps and policies that will be taken to make it happen," he said in a written statement, Sunday, March 9, 2025.

This can be seen from the sectoral or business field side, as well as the expenditure component side. Awalil gave an example of the 2025-2029 RPJMN targeting 2.2 percent growth in the agricultural sector in 2025 to 3.46 percent in 2029. Meanwhile, the realization in 2011-2024 grew by an average of 3.10 percent. Even in the last three years or the 2022-2024 period was only 1.41 percent.

"Thus, the target is quite high and the narrative of the strategy is inadequate to support. Even the umpama according to plan, it seems that the agricultural sector has not prioritized supporting the target of eight percent," he said.

He said the RPJMN target was quite high, requiring the economy to grow and be dynamic. Therefore, Awalil is pessimistic that the RPJMN target will be achieved if the growth targets of the agricultural sector, processing industry, construction and mining are not met.

As is known, the economic growth scenario towards eight percent is presented in the RPJMN 2025-2029 document on attachment I from Presidential Decree No. 12 of 2025. It is hoped that in the next five years economic growth will increase significantly. Starting from 5.3 percent in 2025, 6.3 percent in 2026, 7.5 percent in 2027, and 7.7 percent in 2028, and 8.0 percent in 2029.
