PT PLN (Persero) through the PLN Main Unit of the Maluku and North Maluku Region (UIW MMU) managed to bring full 24-hour electricity to 2,625 people on Sjahrir Island, Ay Island, Rhun Island, Hatta Island, and Buano Island in Maluku Province.

PLN's Director of Distribution, Adi Priyanto, emphasized that PLN will continue to provide access to electricity for the entire community without exception, including in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas.

"Electricity is the basic need for all Indonesian people. As an extension of the government, and in line with the vision of Asta Cita President Prabowo, we will continue to strive to achieve self-sufficiency in energy and ensure energy justice throughout the country," Adi explained, Saturday, March 8.

General Manager of PLN UIW MMU, Awat Tuhuloula explained that the electricity supply on these five islands came from five power plants with isolated systems on each of the islands, namely Ay Island with a capacity of 200 kW, Hatta Island 215 kW, Rhun Island 120 kW, Sjahrir Island 40 kW, and Buano Island with a capacity of 720 kW.

"We would like to thank all relevant stakeholders, so that we can jointly bring light to these five islands. The presence of 24-hour electricity from PLN, of course, is expected to help the community in their activities and worship more solemnly and comfortably during the month of Ramadan," concluded Awat.
