150,000 Tons Of SPHP Rice Distributed To Maintain Food Stability During Ramadan To Eid

The government has again distributed 150,000 tons of rice to three zones from Sabang to Merauke through the Food Supply and Price Stabilization Program (SPHP) since early March 2025, aiming to ensure that food stability during Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr is maintained.

"According to the results of the Coordinating Ministry for Food Coordination Meeting, the total assignment to Bulog is 150,000 tons to three zones from Aceh to Papua. This is also a follow-up to President Prabowo's direction so that food stability can be maintained during Ramadan to Eid Al-Fitr later," said Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas), Arief Prasetyo Adi in a written statement, Friday, March 7.

Arief explained, of the total distribution targets, it was divided into Zone 1 (Java, Lampung, South Sumatra, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and Sulawesi) allocated 50,000 tons. For Zone 1, the distribution only started from March 3 to March 29, 2025.

Then, Zone 2 (Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Riau, Riau Islands, Jambi, Bangka Belitung Islands, NTT, and Kalimantan) amounted to 84,500 tons. Finally, Zone 3 (Maluku and Papua) was allocated 15,500 thousand tons. The distribution period of Zone 2 and 3 was carried out from February 24 to March 29, 2025.

Regarding the rice SPHP channel, Bulog was asked to distribute it through the Cheap Food Market Operation which was carried out in the PT Pos Indonesia office / outlet network and PT Pupuk Indonesia, the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Association of Indonesian State Higher Education Alumni Organizations (Himpuni), and local government services.

SPHP rice is also distributed through retail traders in traditional markets, modern markets, food stalls or local government-assisted outlets. Bulog is also asked to further optimize it to retail traders in traditional markets/people's markets.

"For selling prices in the market, the central government together with local governments, and of course with the National Police's Food Task Force, will carry out periodic supervision. This is for the community so that they can get SPHP rice according to what has been determined," he said.

Regarding prices, special SPHP rice sold at the Cheap Food Market Operations is enforced at Rp. 12,000 per kilogram (kg) in Zone 1 (Java, Lampung, South Sumatra, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and Sulawesi). For Zone 2 (Sumatra except for Lampung and South Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara and Kalimantan) is Rp. 12,300 per kg. In Zone 3 (Maluku and Papua) it is Rp. 12,600 per kg.

Furthermore, sales at the retailer level were enforced according to the provisions of the Highest Retail Price (HET) of medium rice, which amounted to Rp12,500 per kg for the Java, Lampung and South Sumatra regions, then Bali and West Nusa Tenggara and Sulawesi. Meanwhile, the price was set at Rp13,100 per kg for Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Riau, Riau Islands, Jambi, and Bangka Belitung Islands and East Nusa Tenggara and Kalimantan. Finally, the price was Rp13,500 per kg for the Maluku and Papua regions.
