Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Budi Arie Setiadi held a coordination meeting with related Ministries/Institutions (K/L) to discuss the establishment of the Red and White Village Cooperative which is targeted to build as many as 70,000 Cooperatives.
Present at the meeting were Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi, Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono, Deputy Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Ahmad Riza Patria, VAT/Bappenas Deputy Minister Febryan Alphyanto Ruddyard, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo and Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi.
"We have agreed first that the Merah Putih village cooperative is aimed at the interests of the village community. Second, the Red and White Village Cooperative can contribute to eradicating extreme poverty in Indonesia," Budi Arie said at a press conference, Thursday, June 6.
Deputy Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Wamendes PDT) Ahmad Riza Patria added, in order to increase the productivity of the village community, all village officials will be involved in this cooperative.
In this cooperative, basic food outlets will also be present, savings and loan activities, pharmacy outlets to frozen food storage so that people's agricultural and marine products are not damaged quickly.
