PLN Asks People To Do This In The Event Of Floods

PT PLN (Persero) urges all PLN loyal customers to remain alert to potential flooding or other extreme weather effects that may hit.

Just so you know, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that extreme weather in a number of areas in Indonesia will last until March 11.

PLN's Director of Distribution, Adi Priyanto, said that PLN had instructed all units to be fully alert for recovery and ensuring the safety of the community's electricity network.

"We must be aware of the weather, which is still considered an extreme, PLN officers continue to be on standby to monitor the condition of electricity in each region for public safety," said Adi, Thursday, March 6.

Adi conveyed several tips on using electricity to be safe and comfortable during extreme weather. In the event of flooding and water entering the area of the house, the first step that must be taken is to turn off the Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) at kWh Meter.

Second, turn off the unused electricity by removing the electronic equipment from the socket. Then move the electronic equipment to a safe place and not accessible to water.

"In addition, if there is a potential disturbance or threat of safety from the electricity grid due to flooding or other extreme weather impacts, the public can report and request a temporary cessation of electricity supply," Adi explained.

To prevent a wider potential danger or electrical disturbance, the public can immediately report to PLN through various channels provided. Starting from the PLN Mobile application, PLN 123 Contact Center, or contacting the nearest PLN unit office.

"Immediately take this step to avoid potential electrical hazards. It is time for us to increase our vigilance, especially when heavy rains occur that have the potential to flood because water is a strong conductor," concluded Adi.
