Manage Jumbo Assets, Pandu Sjahrir Reveals Fund Sources

JAKARTA - Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Danantara Indonesia, Pandu Sjahrir opens the disclosure of Danantara's sources of funds.

He said the source of the funds was a capital deposit originating from assets and dividends of state-owned companies.

"So if the source of the funds was a capital deposit and will also be from dividends, later the business entities that come in will be brought by Danantara," he told reporters at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday, February 24.

In addition, said Pandu, Danantara will also invest in several projects. That way, the investment returns profits will become Danantara's capital.

"So this Danantara is just starting, we will gradually invest. And later, God willing, it will roll up like that," he said.

Pandu also said that his party was open to cooperation in investment management with the private sector both from within and outside the country.

"But earlier, like Pak Rosan said, we have skin in the game, we can lead in terms of transactions that we might invest in," he said.

In addition, Pandu also emphasized that the most important thing is that the investment that will be made must lead to job creation.

"Jadi memang jangan dilihat bahwa ini hanya un profit alone, ini harus menjadi agent of economic growth buat Indonesia. Tapi kita terbuka melihat baik di market publik atau private market," ungkapnya.

Previously, it was reported that President Prabowo Subianto revealed that Danantara Indonesia would manage assets of more than 900 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 14,715 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 16,350 per US dollar).

Meanwhile, continued Prabowo, the initial funding or initial funding of the Indonesian Danantara Management Agency is projected to reach 20 billion US dollars or more than Rp. 300 trillion.

Prabowo said the capital was obtained from budget inefficiency to the results of the confiscation of corruption during the 100 working days of the Red and White Cabinet government.

"The funds that were previously hampered by inefficiency, corruption and spending were not on target. Now the funds will be allocated to be managed by Danantara Indonesia," he said at the launch of Danantara Indonesia, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat YouTube, Monday, February 24.
