LoI's Amount In IKN 500 To 200 Interests, OIKN: Not All Interests In Investment

JAKARTA - The number of Letter of Intent (LoI) in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, has decreased from the previous 500 to only about 200. Deputy for Funding and Investment at OIKN Agung Wicaksono said that this number was the result of an evaluation that had been carried out by his party.

Agung said that not all LoIs that were previously conveyed were investment interests, but there were interest in becoming contractors to suppliers. So, after a review of the amount that actually states that there are around 200 investment interest.

"We once said that LoI's total had reached more than 500. But we have evaluated it, not all LoIs are investment interest. So we really selected, out of more than 500 it was around 200 investment interest. The others were interested in being a contractor, supplier," Agung said at a press conference on the PPP IKN Market Sounding agenda at the Public Works Ministry Auditorium, Jakarta, Monday, February 24.

Then of the 200 LoIs, 40 of them have entered into cooperation agreements or PKSs and Government Cooperation with Business Entities (PPP).

According to Agung, the most important thing right now is not the number of LoI, but the interest of investors to invest in the new capital city. Such as making a cooperation agreement (PKS) or entering using a Government Cooperation with Business Entities (PPP) scheme.

"Of the 200, we saw that yesterday there were more than 40 PKS and also quite a lot of KPBU. So the important thing is not the number of LOIs now, but those who have entered," said Agung.

In addition, Agung said, the amount of direct investment from the private sector in IKN has reached IDR 58 trillion. This figure comes from eight groundbreakings that have been implemented throughout 2023 to 2024.

"For the direct investment scheme that we have reported so far, it has reached IDR 58.4 trillion, the investment value that is committed and invested in IKN is through eight groundbreakings by business actors in 2023 and 2024," he concluded.
