Call IKN Investors Who Will Groundbreaking, Head Of Authority Questions When To Start Building

JAKARTA - Head of the Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono said that a number of investors who had laid the first stone or groundbreaking at IKN had not started building.

Basuki said, there are at least eight groundbreaking projects that have not been built until now.

Related to this, Basuki admitted that he had summoned investors or entrepreneurs to immediately build. This is because President Prabowo Subianto is targeting IKN in 2028 to become the capital of politics.

"So, it has been conveyed earlier that there are eight groundbreakings. We have called again those who have groundbreaking when to build," said Basuki in the PPP IKN Market Sounding agenda at the Public Works Ministry Auditorium, Jakarta, Monday, February 24.

He explained that of the eight projects, there are six banking projects that have not yet started construction. It has also met with banking investors.

As a result, they are committed to building after Lebaran 2025. The target is that banks in IKN can operate by 2026.

"From there, there are six banks that will build after Lebaran. So after Ramadan, he will build. Now these are banks (such as) BCA, Kaltara, BNI, Mandiri, BRI, BTN. We will build immediately in this area, the target is that the first quarter of 2026 will start operating," he said.

According to Basuki, the number of investors has never built it for several reasons. Among other things, there is a cooperation agreement (PKS) with the government to give the time to start construction for 1.5 years from the groundbreaking. Then, the building design and roads in IKN are not ready.

"That's because the PKS was given for a year and a half. So, they are still being lined up. Well, we want to be fast. So it's not because it's very long, there are also designs. Some may be waiting for the road, right," explained Basuki.

"Until now, with the road construction program, God willing, they will immediately want to build the programs. We will prepare the utilities, water, electricity," he added.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Funding and Investment at OIKN Agung Wicaksono added that several projects had not been built, one of which was hospitality. Agung said that his party would meet investors regarding the certainty of development time.

"Then there will be another hotel, a Jambuluwuk hotel, a Marriott hotel with Pakuwon. Then Superblock. At its center there is also a hotel. We will report this Friday, we will hold a meeting with the IKN investor communication forum and hotels such as when we had a meeting with banks," he added.
